Helen had always had a passion for the sciences.  She was intrigued by the way the world worked - the way chemicals reacted, stars formed, and medicine healed.  Determined to become a scientist, Helen worked extremely hard in school and did not allow herself to become discouraged by the male dominated field.  She knew that she was just as smart and capable as the men with whom she attended school.       Through her strong will, Helen was able to reach her goal of becoming a scientist and published may articles that greatly contributed to the advancement of her field.
